Contract Development and Manufacturing Centers (CDMCs) are recognized worldwide as key elements of the innovation ecosystem. These centers are typically established by one or more strong industrial and research entities. Their objective is to achieve development and production with minimum cost and maximum efficiency and productivity by leveraging innovation in products, technologies, and processes. By utilizing their internal capacities — as well as supply networks, laboratory networks, and research & development infrastructures available within the innovation ecosystem — and also by using the idle capacity of industrial production lines, these centers undertake contract development and manufacturing activities. Due to their extensive networks of industrial partners and suppliers, these centers are able to commercialize developed technologies and products at lower costs.
Winnova Contract Development and Manufacturing Center
The first Contract Development and Manufacturing Center (CDMC) in Iran was established in 2022 by Alborz Research and Technology Fund, with the support of the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, at Alborz Science and Technology Park. This center develops the required infrastructure for technology and innovation development within industrial companies. One of its most important functions is supporting technology teams and innovative ideas aligned with industry needs. To achieve this, industrial challenges are identified using a problem-solving approach within the center and specialized CDMC companies. By leveraging the network of technology providers active in the innovation ecosystem, the center implements solutions to address current challenges and access future opportunities. Accordingly, the Vinova CDMC building has been constructed over an area of more than 7,000 square meters, in accordance with international CDMC standards, and provides the following services to industrial and knowledge-based companies:
