Currently, more than 100 venture capital investors operate in the country. The emergence of venture capital dates back to the early 2010s (Iranian calendar: early 1390s), and in 2012 the first Iranian venture capital fund was established. According to statistics from the Iranian Venture Capital Association, around 500 million Dollars was invested across Iran’s innovation ecosystem from the early 2010s until 2019.

What is Investment?
Investment refers to the allocation of financial resources into one or more types of assets that will be held for a future period of time. The primary objective of investors is typically the growth and development of their capital and benefiting from future returns. Investors may hold their assets over long horizons — years or even decades — to benefit from profitability. The definition of investment may vary across different sectors and industries.
Venture Capital
Venture Capital (VC), also referred to as Entrepreneurial Investment or Risk Capital, is the provision of funding to startup companies and early-stage businesses that demonstrate growth potential but also involve high risk. In exchange for the capital invested, investors acquire equity ownership in the company and generate returns through value creation.
